What Goes Around Comes Around

This is a collage I put together a couple of months ago while checking out the TOTE model introduced by psychologists George A. Miller, Eugene Galanter, and Karl H. Pribram in Plans and the Structure of Behavior (1960).  I was struck by the sudden realization that the system they were describing was a positive feedback loop: an element – according to Emergence theory – essential to the formation of everything from snowflakes, traffic patterns, and spirals to the ways we circulate through our daily activities and relationships.
